Fictitious broadside advertisement issued with: The Myriopticon, a historical panorama of the Rebellion (Springfield, Mass.: Published by Milton Bradley & Co., [1868]). The accompanying toy consisted of 22 scenes from the Civil War in a long panoramic strip, which could be viewed through the window of the box.
"This splendid work of art is painted on nearly 1000 square inches of surface and represents a great number of the most interesting important events of the war ... commencing with Gen. Anderson and men entering Fort Sumter by night, and ending with a splendid panoramic view of the burning and evacuation of Richmond by the rebels. The exhibition is rendered doubly interesting and instructive by the accompanying descriptive lecture by Brig. Gen. B.R. Stadt, from the Rocky Mountain Rangers."
BAC: British Art Center copy removed from The Myriopticon, a historical panorama of the Rebellion (Springfield, Mass.: Published by Milton Bradley & Co., [1868]), which is cataloged separately.
