Each volume has a title page illustrated with a watercolor drawing.
The 1901 volume is accompanied by an award from the editor for the Art Union Prize, certifying that J.F. Tattersall received the highest number of votes during the year 1900. The 1900 volume includes the notice "Owing to the late return of the Sept no., the editor is unable to give a list of votes gained therein."
The editor of the magazine is identified as C.M. Kingwell on the Art Union Prize award. The list of members in both volumes lists "The Misses Kingwell, Great Aish, S. Brent, Devon," and "Miss C.M. Kingwell, Great Aish, S. Brent. R.S.O." as the last name, suggesting the editor was to receive the volume after it has circulated amongst all of the other members and all of their votes had been collected in preparation for the subsequent volume. Miss C.M. Kingwell, possibly Catherine M. Kingwell (died 1956 in Plymouth, Devon), was a member of the committee on the climate of Devon for the Devonshire Association for the advancement of science, literature, and art,
Manuscript magazine with drawings in watercolor, graphite, and ink by members of the Pegasus Club. Subjects of the drawings include landscapes, pastoral scenery, boats, portraits, and animals. There are entries of poetry and prose written by members, including a debate section with essays presenting a member's position on a designated topic. Contents also include letters to the editor and other members regarding the Pegasus Postage Fund, a section of designs by members, administrative notices from the editor, and a voting list to determine the Art Union Prize winner for each year. Photographs are also present, usually preceding a section of written text. Each entry by a member is accompanied by a page or two of criticism with feedback and comments from other members in various hands.
Each volume also includes a list of members with their addresses and two columns to note when the volume was received by the member and when it was sent out to the next member on the list. The 1900 volume lists 18 members, and the 1901 volume lists 19 members (one name has been crossed out in graphite with the note "Please pass me over, C.M.B" in the margin). Based on the specified titles for each name, the membership appears to have consisted of both men and women, married and unmarried. Members seem to be clustered towards the South of England, primarily in Bristol and Devon. Based on the voting list included towards the end of both volumes, members appear to have made contributions under an alias or a pen name.
