"In 1815, the series of 24 engravings [originally issued by George Townley Stubbs in 1800] was republished by the firm of S. & J. Fuller ... The engravings were reissued singly in black and white or in numbers, forming the same groups as before but with the male écorché heads placed last. Those issued in numbers were presented trimmed of the artists' names and the publication line, printed in color, and attached to thick brown paper with the titles cut out and pasted below."--Ledgard.
