BAC: British Art Center copy is George Augustus Sala's copy with his signature (dated 1883) and inscriptions on t.p. as follows: "a vile sciolistic, bastard, physiological book (not without a flavour of the sub-erotic), calculated to do much mischief to silly women. The illustrations are passable ... [published] about 1871." Bound in later half red calf and marbled boards, with marbled edges.
